Jim Edwards, a Sycamore native, has an M.B.A. from the University of New Orleans and has been a local businessman for more than 16 years. He has served on many boards throughout DeKalb County and has chaired several committees at his church.
He was elected as Mayor in 1998 and was instrumental in getting the grant to revitalize our downtown, setting the stage for lower tax rates in Sycamore and in bringing The Schelkoph collection, which is now the Midwest Natural History Museum, to Sycamore.
He has been influential in keeping the Art Attack alive in the past few years often donating time and money to the organization. Without his active involvement in the development and founding our organization, the Art Attack would not be what it is today.
Currently, Jim is the Director of the New Hope for America Foundation, whose mission is to empower individuals and organizations to contribute to our nation’s freedom, sovereignty, economic health and national security. He is currently working on getting new trade legislation passed to help revitalize manufacturing in the United States.
