Watercolor with Connie Glowacki
Painters of all levels of experience are welcome. Bring your own watercolor materials. The recommended watercolor paper for class is 300 lb press rough surface D'Arches and is available through Art Attack. It is heavy and easy to work with. It also lends itself to her scrumbling technique. The class votes on the image we paint each day from a choice of five or six photos. Each student will receive a copy photo for close reference. Using a paint-along teaching technique, she will list the basic steps in creating the painting. Then draw the essentials of the image, explaining how and why so we can draw simultaneously. Next, she begins to paint. You may duplicate her techniques, explore your own, or modify the subject. It is your choice. As we progress, Connie will make positive suggestions, demonstrate special techniques, and try to answer your questions. We begin class at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. We take an hour for lunch if desired. The photos we select are from her own collection. They include florals, landscapes, seascapes, figures, and others.
